Which is the best antidepressant that will not cause weight gain?

Answer :

I agree wellbutrin is an effective antidepressant that works well without weight gain or sexual side effects for most people and is generally well tolerated. Like someone else said which ever works best for you, as each person reacts differently to certain medications.

Wellbutrin XL is now available in generic (the SL has been generic for years). I find I tolerate the extended release tablet once a day tablet much better than the slow release which you need to take more frequently.

Statistics: Best formula for average weight gain?

I did a survey of nearly 1000 people. In the survey I have the starting weight and ending weight (the participants were trying to gain weight).

What is the best formula for eliminating the most errors in finding the average weight gain?

Right now I am using the standard elementary formula for finding a mean: (Total weight gain by all participants/ number of participants).

Is there a more accurate way? I find that a few participants are throwing off the average, probably because they reported wrong (the survey was online).

Answer :

The most accurate way, if you have the before and after results (paired test), of each subject is to perform a hypothesis Z-test on the DIFFERENCES of before and after weights. Analyzing it this way, there can be no outliers and the differences in the starting weights is eliminated.

Your test statistic is Z = Dbar/(sd/vn)

Where Dbar is the average difference weight gain and is compared against a 0 weight gain.

sd is the standard deviation of the differences.

The critical Z value depends on your a-risk.

I need your opinions on weight gain PLEASE?

I’m 5ft, I weigh just over 6 stone. I am unhappy with my size, I want fuller breats, a bigger bum & definately know I need more meat on me.

I do eat like a pig, however, I have fast metabolism and I can’t seem to gain weight.

My family suggested eating atleast 4000/5000 Calories per day if I want to gain weight because that may work?

But - I don’t really know what foods are best to eat to help me reach 4000/5000 Calories if I only eat (normally) 2 hot meals a day & then snacks all through out.

Would it be best if I tried eating 3 hot meals a day?

And snacked 15-20 minutes in between or what?

I really want to gain weight, I feel uncomfortable with my size. I don’t look super skinny, I am in proportion but I would feel more comfy if I was atleast a size 8 or 10. (Currently a UK size 4, which is a US size 0)

I’m not sure if I can get pills or liquids to take from my doctor to sort out my metabolism?

you would be very silly to eat 5000 cals a day, you will do yourself more harm than good, your heart will not be able to stand the sudden change in diet and no doubt your arteries will start to clog prematurely..my brother had this same problem and he went to a health food store and bought food supplement that weight lifters ect use, but didnt do any excercise, he manages to put on a few extra pound..theree are lots of people out there who are trying to lose weight but people dont appreciate what it is like to be under weight, and its not usualy because of under eating………if you really need to do this then i stress to you, please try to do it healthily and not just eating crap cos thats not good…hope this helps x

What is the best weight loss method for diabetics type 1?

It is known that insulin creates weight gain so what can a diabetic do to lose weight? Is there a better insulin system or pills which can be added aside from Metformin? Thanks for all replies.. cherie

Insulin plays a major role in weight gain, and even keeps us from losing weight. Insulin is responsible for the storage of all the foods we eat: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. However, high glycemic carbohydrates cause blood sugars to rise very rapidly, therefore causing the pancreas to release insulin very rapidly. In some people the body overcompensates and releases too much. The insulin will store these carbohydrates/sugars very quickly. The good side is you get a quick burst of energy; the bad side is most of what is eaten will be stored as fat. Since the blood sugars rose very rapidly, the insulin will try to bring the blood sugars within normal ranges very rapidly, causing the sugars to be pushed by the insulin into every cell, including fat cells. On the other hand, if you eat low-to-moderate glycemic carbohydrates, blood sugars rise more slowly; therefore so does insulin. When this happens more of what you ate is pushed into your body’s cells to be used for energy, and w
hatever is left over will be stored in fat cells. Weight loss programs ensure how to control insulin and blood sugar levels so optimal weight loss results will be achieved.

Insulin activates lipoprotein lipase. This enzyme acts as a roadblock for the removal of triglycerides (fat) out of the fat cells. Insulin also inhibits another enzyme called hormone sensitive lipase. This enzyme is responsible for the breaking down of stored fats, on your waist so to speak. During exercise if insulin levels are high, your body will use more energy from carbohydrates/sugars than from fat. Now you can see why most people see very little or no results in weight reduction, even though they exercise. The key is to control your insulin and blood sugars levels

Which is worse? Gain fast or lose fast?

I have heard many people say it’s dangerous to lose weight fast but what about all those people that gained weight fast.

I think rapid weight gain is more common than rapid weight loss.

You know it’s interesting, I was in your same situation about 3 months ago (during Christmas time), and it wasnt until a friend told me about http://www.findhowtoloseweightfast.com that I was able to get a solid answer!

Basically a group of people are reviewing all the different weight loss methods that ARE working, from herbal supplements to diet strategies. My mom (who is in her late 50s) lost about 20lbs over the last 2 months through a diet plan they recommended.

I didn’t!!! but under the new weight-loss regime, Ronaldinho reportedly has lost close to three kilos and is approaching his ideal weight once more!

BUT WAS THAT THE REASON WHY DINHO HAS BEEN SLOW OFF THE MARK IN THE 2006/07 SEASON?

HOW MANY PER CENT WOULD U GIVE RONNIE AT THE MOMENT?

I have noticed myself he was little bit out of shape but I am not really all that concerned. Real Madrid and Brazil have their own physical fitness team and I am sure they must have brought it to Ronaldinho’s attention. Plus he has been the top scorer for Real Madrid this season so he seems to be enjoying his game with Real Madrid. IT IS ONLY WHEN HE IS PALYING WITH BRAZIL SOMETHING GOES WRONG- HE JUST IS NOT AT HIS BEST! It really puzzles me but Ron is Ron. Drink lots of green tea

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables

Eat throughout the day (many small meals), and add spices to everything

Drink lots of water

Ground flax seeds

High protein

Exercise - Strength training and interval training.

How to avoid weight gain while travelling especially when your travel companion is a big eater?

Hi, im going backpacking for six months soon and am worried about putting on weight as it’s hard to control how healthy your food is when you’re away from home. Also the friend i’m going with is a big eater and when I went away for a month with her last year I ended up putting on half a stone.

if your backpacking you will probably be walking a lot so why would you worry about overeating?
