I’m a 15 year old, can I take weight loss supplements?

Even though I have a good fat to muscle ratio, i still a lot of fat around my stomach, thighs and pecks. But I heard about this thing called “Ultra Lean Green”, it’s simply a powder you put to a bottle of water to make into green tea, and supposedly it works really well. Are there any health issues I should be worried about because of my age? And also, if you have used it or know someone who has used it, can you tell me your or their results of it. Help me out guys, I’m tired of having a bunch of fat where I don’t want it. Oh, and one more thing, diet and exercise alone doesn’t seem to cut it for me.

just check on the label because most diet supplements say you have to be 18 before using it. You may even go to the doctor and ask about it.

Teen Weight Loss?

Hi. I’m 15 years old, 5 feet and 6 inches, and I am 125 pounds. I am not trying to lose major weight. I just want to shed 5 to 10 pounds. I was wondering if there are any teen appropriate weight loss supplements or metabolism speeders. I have been exercising a lot and eating healthy foods, but I can’t seem to lose weight. honestly no supplement out there is going to work without proper exercise and a balance diet.

to start off with focus on cardiovascular work. 3 - 4 days a week of treadmill, bike, stairmaster, etc.. work for 30 45 min and always go for time rather than intensity (meaning lower down the level inorder to complete your time if you have too)

NV weight loss pills and side effects.?

I started taking NV weight loss pills three days ago. Several hours after taking the first pill (recommended on an empty stomach) I started feeling nauseous. I’ve been that way for 3 days now. Has anyone taken this pill and had any side effects? Wondered if perhaps my body just needed to get accustomed to the pill. I also tried Smart Burn with Hoodia - no side effects but the pills are HUGE and too hard to swallow.

All pills will make you have a lot of side effects. While taking them, you feel horrible.

A better way for you would be to do excercises or jogging.

Running and stretching is crucial to some great weight loss. 20 minutes running in the morning is a good starter to your day and is fast and easy. Eat foods that have a lot of water in them (fruits, veggies, broth-based soups, etc.) and drink a lot of water (stay away from liquids with calories). Stretching before bed and when you wake up helps too.

It’s extremely hard (if not impossible) to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time. You can, however, lose fat and maintain your muscle mass. This is done by combining a low-calorie, low-sugar (low glycemic-index) diet and a cardio routine with your normal lifting routine.

Body builders go through cycles that consist of a few months of “bulking” and a few months of “cutting”. They do this because If the try to do both at the same time, one of them has to give.

When you’re trying to “cut”, or lose excess body fat, your lifestyle (diet and cardio) should be one that does not promote significant muscle gain.

My advice would be to do it the right way. Go through a bulking stage where you consume enough calories for your muscles to take full advantage of your workouts. Then, when you’re built up, go through a “cutting” phase where you cut down on the calories and try to remove sugar from your diet (only consuming complex carbohydrates, “good” fats, and plenty of protein as always).

i tried “Metabolife” pills about 5 years ago and i lost 30 pounds…but when i stopped the weight came right back and the pills had really bad side effects like rapid heartbeat and severe loss of appetite so 2 years ago i decided to try the Slimfast diet plan along with exercising 5 days a week i lost 50 pounds (which got me to my goal weight) and i kept it off for 2 years (until i got pregnant LOL) using diet pills is always a bad idea (most of them do not even work unless they have some type of ephedrine or Hoodia in them) the best way to lose weight is through diet and exercise…i hope this helps!!!

    I need your opinions on weight gain PLEASE?

    I’m 5ft, I weigh just over 6 stone. I am unhappy with my size, I want fuller breats, a bigger bum & definately know I need more meat on me.

    you would be very silly to eat 5000 cals a day, you will do yourself more harm than good, your heart will not be able to stand the sudden change in diet and no doubt your arteries will start to clog prematurely..my brother had this same problem and he went to a health food store and bought food supplement that weight lifters ect use, but didnt do any excercise, he manages to put on a few extra pound..theree are lots of people out there who are trying to lose weight but people dont appreciate what it is like to be under weight, and its not usualy because of under eating………if you really need to do this then i stress to you, please try to do it healthily and not just eating crap cos thats not good…hope this helps x

    Please help im trying to lose weight, i have made up a food plan, exercise plan as follows:

    Breakfast: high fibre cerial w low fat milk n banana n tspn honey + cup water

    Mtea: sustagen drink (w low fat milk)

    + some mixed dried fruit n nuts

    Lunch: wholemeal bread sandwich w cup salad, slice low fat cheese + little low fat mayo + cup water

    Atea: sustagen drink (w low fat milk)

    Dinner: 100g lean meat, 2 cups veg, 20g low fat cheese.

    1 cup fruit salad w 1/2 cup low fat yogurt + cup water

    Hey everyone, just wondering if you could tell me how long it will take me to lose 14lbs? At the moment I’m 5 foot 4 and 127lbs and after being at University I would love to go back to my normal weight of 113lbs. I eat really healthily…I have a banana and cornflakes/weetabix for breakfast and for lunch I have a greek salad/soup/scrambled eggs with rice cakes and for dinner I have a medium portion of food with limited carbs, I only snack on fruit and I either walk for an hour a day or dance for an hour a day and I’m not gonna drink until I lose the weight (even though it’s my 20th birthday in 2 weeks!). However, high glycemic carbohydrates cause blood sugars to rise very rapidly, therefore causing the pancreas to release insulin very rapidly. In some people the body overcompensates and releases too much. The insulin will store these carbohydrates/sugars very quickly. The good side is you get a quick burst of energy; the bad side is most of what is eaten will be stored as fat. Since the blood sugars rose very rapidly, the insulin will try to bring the blood sugars within normal ranges very rapidly, causing the sugars to be pushed by the insulin into every cell, including fat cells. On the other hand, if you eat low-to-moderate glycemic carbohydrates, blood sugars rise more slowly; therefore so does insulin. When this happens more of what you ate is pushed into your body’s cells to be used for energy, and whatever is left over will be stored in fat cells.     I just recently started taking Lamictal for bi polar disorder. I’m only on the 50mg because I just started taking it about 2 and a half weeks ago and my mood has been great so far, but me and my girlfriend have just been noticing that my appetite has changed and my weight has just gone down ever since I started taking it. I’m not exactly the type that should be losing weight either. I’m 17 years old, about 5′2″ and I usually weight around 105 lbs. Lately though, my weight just keeps going down and down and now I weigh about 97 lbs. I love the way the medication is working on me psychologically, but physically, it feels like it’s sucking the life out of me. I don’t know if I should just talk to my psychiatrist about it or ask my therapist on our thursday meeting about it and see what he thinks. Is it normal for me to lose weight as a beginning stage of taking this medication? Or is it something I need to look into and start taking a different medication?

    I suggest mentioning it to your doctor. If you are like me when I am happy and feeling great I lose weight. And the opposite when I’m depressed. Lamictal itself usually will not affect your weight either way. It will not prevent you from losing weight as most drugs do and does not increse appetite. In any case discuss it with you psychiatrist not your therapist, I know mine are very clear as to who I should talk to regarding the medical aspect of it(eg:medications) and let him know what is going on.
