Whats the best hair care products for taming or stopping broken hair due to using straighteners.?

I have very thick long brown hair with a natural kink. I started using hair straighteners about 5 years ago. It really does make my hair nice and straight but alas the usual damage occured. Broken hair. Also parts of my hair have become very dry at the ends and frizzy even after using the following products. When i straighten it now i can always see little broken hair standing out. When i go out and stand under a spotlight (Usually in pub toilets) i have a heart attack because it stands out so much. I want to know if anyone has the answer to how i can protect more broken hair and also how to tame the ones i’ve got. I do use Tresemme Hair protecting spray and have done for many years but i don’t think this product is working for me. I do try all sorts of straightening balms and I also use VO5 tame & shine as i’m straightening but none of it seems to work. The best person to advise would be an hairdresser i would think but any suggestions would be appreciated

i use herbal essences “break’s over.” it helps my hair with the breakage.

my sister uses a CHI iron and CHI protecting spray (or cream, i don’t remember) and her hair always looks awesome and unbroken. (she straightens her hair all the time, too.)

There is a product called biosilk that I use on my hair and my nieces hair. I am half african american and half caucasian, she is half caucasian and half hatian. When I were my hair curly i just put a dime size in my towel dried hair after i wash it and let it air dry the rest of the way. The real key is to keep the hair moisterized there are lots of good products on the market that you would be able to use, but look for those that seal in the hair cuticle, when they arent sealed, frizziness occurs.

it honestly depends on your hair type. the best leave in conditioner is got2b or neutrogena or loreal pairs. anti frizz: john frieda. works really well.

shampoo/conditioner:

straight hair: john frieda or pantene

wavy: aussie

curly: herbal essences

African American Hair Care Products?

I am currently using Pantene Relaxed and Natural, but it is not doing anything for my hair. What are some good cheap products that may thicken my hair and help it grow?

I don’t know if you’re relaxed or natural. Products that were made for all hair types worked best on my hair, so I loved Pantene (not the line for women of color because my hair didn’t respond for it) and Dove products. For my natural hair I use natural oils and butters. You have to experiment with different products to find something that works well for your hair and you might go through a lot of brands/products before you find the right ones.

Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell not too expensive maybe 15 -20 dollars. Works GREAT my hair is super curly and i like it straight of course. This product keeps my hair soft and free from frizz

Well i’m mixed race & live in mid wales so surprisingly their are no black hair care hairdresser within 60 miles of where I live.
