Hi. I just signed up with extreme fitness today and hired a personal trainer.?

So all i want to know is that i have been hearing alot of things that say Extreme Fitness is a scam, and people that live in toronto/pickering/whitby that know the place im asking you this.

Is it really a scam, because ive read things on the internet but its the internet so i didnt trust it but ive also heard people talk about how its just a huge scam and the employess their treat you like a nobody. So is it really a scam?

Im wanting to go on a diet, and my friend recently did the cambridge diet and she lost a lot of weight doing it. In the first place, you don’t want to lose weight quickly, that messes up your bodily functions and can become dangerous. All you have to do is eat less, some say that if you eat a little every three or fours hours is better than three full meals, especially anyone that is a diabetic. Watch your fat and calorie intake, stay away from high sugar levels, drink plenty of water and instead of a running exercise, make it a fast pace walk. Just remember this, if it tastes really good and sweet, it’s no good for you. Eat more baked chicken and fish, stay away from reg. Coke or Pepsi an especially Mountain Dew, eat vegetables and salads with light dressings or vinegar and oil. Snack at night on fruit and drink more water, or a cup of green tea or decaffeinated tea sweetened with a sugar substitute. Drink skim Milk and put it on a cereal like Special K. When I was doing this, I would diet and exercise Monday thru Saturday. Sunday I would eat normal, but still walked, then Monday, back o
n my diet food. A fast pace walk is all the exercise you need, and ride a stationary bike some. Once you lose your weight, you’ll need to do some sit ups and small weight lifting, and just some basic exercise to firm up where you lost the weight. Wish for you the very best luck young lady.

The P90X its a 90 day challenge , ow its perfect , check it out i have one actually and my mom and i partake in it . It has two dvds but u must follow them in a certain order , from

1 dvd. intro tape , back and chest, plometrics ( to rasie your heart rate ) , shoulders and arms , yoga , legs and back , kenpo ( like kick boxing )

2. dvd Back and Biceps , Cardio X , X Stretch , Chest, Shoulders and Triceps .

Its a great challenge if you are willing to take it on and have that willpower and not lazy or get to tired. All you need to do though is make you also get your own mat , weights , plates, and stuff u will need in some of the workouts are a chair , water , mat etc .

But its not really with dance , and u dont have to follow the 90 day thing if u dont want , u can just do your own routine if u want ;)

Is P90x worth the money or is it something that is to hard so you just throw it in the corner and forget about it? Also how long do the exercises last and how fast do you see results, are you on a strict diet or anything? Is it for people who need to lose about 20 pounds and get in shape like me?

I also saw tony horton’s 10 minute trainer (same guy) and was wondering if that worked the same, does it take longer to lose weight and see results, which one would be better?

P90x is difficult, but exercising and weight lose is, period.

M - Chest & Back - you need a chinup bar, DB’s and/or tubing. You will be doing a ton of pushups and various pullups.

W - Should/Bis/Tris - again you need DB’s and/or tubing

F - Back and Legs - more pullups and DB’s

M/W/F you do ab video - 16 minutes.

All the weight workouts are under 1 hour

T - Plyometrics (jump training) 1 hour

Th - Yoga 1hr 30 minutes

Sat - kickbowing

Sun - rest or stretch

4 weeks and then you change it up.

There is a diet program and you will see results in 2 weeks if you put forth the effort.

It will cost about $130 without the chinup bar or other assoccories.

I am having nasty chest pains and can’t breathe properly… and I am only 20! Please help!?

I am only 20 years old. I am having chest pains quite frequently and at night and also heart pains. I have veru shallow breathing and ifind it hard to breathe especially before I fall asleep. I am VERY fit- I exercise daily and combine running, kick boxing, cycling and weight training. In morning I have a phlem build up from my chest in which I spit out lots of thick phlem off my chest and occasionally have a small bit of blood.Last year my friend woke me as I had chest pains and couldn’t breathe well and while asleep she heard my breathing stop. When I woke I couldn’t move I was in so much chest pain and was sat on floor with head between my kness before ambulance arrived. They said it was nothing and I thought they were useless as it clearly IS something. Even my kick boxing partner noticed I ‘don’t breathe’ while exercising’ its not that I dont more so that I breathe so so shallow. Please help!

How do I get abs and get rid of love handles/obliques? What workouts are best?

I know I have to lower body fat. I eat 5-6 small meals a day. I do 3 days of strength training and 3 days of 20 min cardio workouts. I also do ab workouts on the 3 days of strength training and 8 minute abs (youtube) on my cardio days. What can I do to eliminate my obliques/love handles and reveal my abs? Any info would help. I’ve went from 211 to 197 in the past 8 weeks.

Keep at it and vary your workouts.

Variety of exercise is the key I have found. For example..an exercise called Mountain Climbers.

Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position

and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are

moving in under your chest and then back out to starting

position. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat on

the floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward in

addition to the leg movements. This really makes it a full

body exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers.

After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds before

starting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes after

completing each “tri-set” before repeating.

This will give you one of the best ab workouts you’ve ever had

without even doing any direct ab exercises. You’ll see what I

mean after you try it!

Once you get away from the myth that a 1000 crunches and 500 situps a day is all you need to do for great abs, then amazing results can be seen.

what is the normal 1-month cost for a membership….and can you buy them just one month at a time?

Mines $50 per month at my local Gold’s Gym, a little steeper then the others but worth it. I use to attend planet fitness and it was super cheap ($10 a month) but the place was so packed i had to wait to use machines and what not. So where ever you decide to go definitely look into it. Good Luck!

None! Diet pills are not the way to go. THeir effect is minimal with regards to suppressing appetite and the side effects can be nasty. THey include high blood pressure, nausea, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, and hallucinations.

The best way to lose weight is through healthy diet and exercise. Keep up with eating healthy and exercise regularly. Find an activity you like so you’ll be more motivated to stick to it. As for eating better get a cookbook with healthy recipes so you can find delicious meals that you’ll want to eat.

Since body fat is lost all over the body proportionately, I have included a short-term plan that develops into a longterm plan until you have achieved your goals, or have decided to continue with this regular excercise program I have created for you.

A good plan

Make sure someone who has the qualifications puts a plan together for you.

Proper technique

Make sure you are doing exercises correctly. Doing one incorrectly at the beginning may seem safe. But in the longterm after weeks, months or years it can result in serous injury to put you out of work for a week to months or even longer.

Raise Intensity

Raise the intensity of your exercises slowly, to keep achieving more from your fitness program in the longterm. This can be done by adding more reps/sets/stress/weights/angle for exercises.

Hitting a plateau

If you reach a plateau and increasing the intensity of the bodybuilding sessions reaches its limits, then take a couple weeks off and comeback and start at 75% of the level of the previous plateau (levels may be in number of sets or dumbel weight). Then when you reach your next plateau it will be higher than the previous one. Repeat this for each plateau you experience.

Muscle soreness

You will experience muscle soreness when starting your workouts. Muscles get sore because of the lactic acid that accumulates around the muscles during exercise. Lactic acid is a poison to muscles, but is a necessary sign so that you don’t push your exercise intensity over the limit and injure yourself.

Day after soreness is normal for a worked muscles. But soreness or pain longer than that is a sign that you could be doing damage to your muscles.

You may be working your abs too hard if they are still sore more than 1 day after they were worked, since the body system that creates the lactic acid during a workout usually takes 1 day to regenerate back to normal.

But take into account when working muscles to a new intensity, the effects of initial soreness will be high until your body adapts to the intensity.

Stretch your muscles to squeeze lactic acid out after workouts to reduce soreness.

Rest

Rest is vital to get good responses from exercise and nutrition for fatloss. Rest allows your muscles to grow. Sleep for 8-10 hours a night if possible. Most quality hours are from 9pm-6am. Not getting enough sleep aids fat gain.

Powers of water

Never underestimate the powers of water. People can live longer with only water than food. Drinking at least 1.5ltr of water over a day is necessary to maintain peak performance and remain alert, and increased blood circulation which will help the body recuperate better. This water gaol can be achieved by filling a 1.5ltr water bottle at the start of the day and making sure you have drunk it all by the end of the day.

If your lips are not moist, and becoming dry, it is a sign you aren’t getting enough water.

Dedication

This plan will definitely succeed in the shot-term, but continuing it for longterm and keeping regular excercise up so you can keep your body always in good health and shape, comes down to you and your dedication and a commitment, to continue no matter what.

Hi Lucy! I started the Atkins diet last week and I have lost four pounds! I haven’t even been working out like I usually do. Basically, I do not ingest any carbs. It is a very easy diet to maintain if you are a meat lover, which I am. It is very simple! You can have any type of meat and any type of cheese and eggs.. you can eat things such as: chicken, beef, lamb, fish, cheese smothered chicken, cheeseburger [without the bun], steak, sandwich meat, omelets, philly cheesesteak [without the bun], etc. I am loving this diet. Yesterday, I had two boiled eggs for breakfast, a huge green pepper, ham, and cheese omelet for lunch, and a swordfish steak for dinner. Okay. Relax. Take a breath. And throw away your fruit only plan. You need some protein! So you want to clean up your act. That is great! Start by eating a cup of cereal and milk for breakfast. a few hours later (3) eat a fruit. 2 hrs later, eat a light lunch. Try a pb & j sandwich or a few slices of ham and cheese and a fruit. Then a handful of almonds 3 hrs later. then dinner at 630. then if you get hungry around 9 or so a handful of almonds (10-15). Exercise atleast 30 min 3 times a week. Drink lots of water. And as for detox…GREEN TEA is a great antioxidant, cleans you nicely. Blueberries should be your fruit of choice…antioxidants as well. There is a tea they sell that cleans you out (literally) i forgot what it has in it. But it is a detox tea and completely natural (all herbal). Also, eat al ot of fiber. Fiber one cereal is good. Or try grinding flaxseed into foods (1TBSP) 3 times a day. DOn’t buy it already ground because it loses properties. Grind it be
fore eating it. Don’t eat the seeds without grinding b/c your body can’t digest it.

Anyway, to conclude, don’t just eat fruits for a week. It is too much starch for your body and will be counterproductive in weight loss. If you want do veggies instead. atleast they are less starchy.

How can I stick to a healthy diet?

I’m about 5′3” and weight approx 120lbs. It’s not necessarily my weight that i’m concerned about, but my body shape. I’m fine with the way my stomach looks, but my thighs are really getting to me. I exercise fairly often but junk food really gets to me. I feel as though I rarely eat breakfast, lunch, OR dinner. All I eat is snacks pretty much all day long and most of the time they’re not very healthy. (chips, cookies, etc.) Out of pure luck, I hate soda so I usually drink green tea or water.

Go to this site and do a self evaluation and find out you cal in take. Then buy a pedometer and use it, 4 hours before bed time check it if it is not 10,000 steps then just go for a walk. Go to library and find body parts specific exercises then do them pick weightless or light weight, or just buy some wrist and ankle weights and put them on.

Eat any thing and every thing that you like but keep total cals. per day to one recommanded on the site.

You must count calories and at least in initial stages write down what you are going to eat and when then stay on that list. Your total calories for the week must not exceed, 1500 x 7 = 10,500 calories this will give you leave way to indulge at special occasions like wedding and parties, but you must write down what you eat and account for the calories latter and adjust the total intake next week.

While at it build your body too, while reducing by doing body parts specific exercises.

If you are not too old, then best way to reduce your weight is to increase your height.

Vegetarians have a big advantage, in loosing weight, it cost less and they can satisfy the hunger more easily, some vegetables have only a few calories per pound, so they can fill themselves up with it before enjoying each meal, and never go hungry.

Most people should take one a day water soluble multi-vitamins when on this program; they can be purchased at the pharmacy near you.

What is the reason for being over weight?

This is also simple, have doctor check you out for any physical or hormonal abnormalities. The doctor should be advising you of your ideal weight even though you have already figured out the ideal weight and you are seen a doctor because your weight is not where it should be according to BMI.

Basic understanding of loosing weight.

Every one uses calories at all time. There may be some exceptions to this rule, for most of us; the rate of use, even when we are resting, we use 65 calories per hour minimum. This comes to1560 calories per day. The actual range is between 65 and 100 calories per hour. This is consistent with heart rate of 60 to 80 bits per minute.

Is “hyperacidity” a medical term.?

I don’t think so. My mind first went to “hyper-acidity” of the stomach. Gastric acid is hydrochloric acid & when there’s an excess, I believe it’s called hyperchlorhydria (not absolutely sure on that). Acidosis refers to increased acidity in the blood.

did you eat anything less than 8 hours before the blood test?

third,

do some high intensity cardiovascular exercise (like jogging, running, or sprinting… etc)

fourth,

eat natural food sources… don’t fry anything… make sure you take in lots of fish oil, EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil, good protein (fish, chicken), stay away from saturated fats, eat some good carbs (fruits, potatoes, brown rice, yams, whole wheat pasta), make sure you take in enough fiber (psyllium husks “metamucil”, veggies), drink lots of water, don’t over eat.

fifth,

supplement with red yeast rice, FLUSH FREE NIACIN (make sure it’s flush free… this is very good for your cholesterol. 500 mg 3 times per day), garlic extract.

Im planning to get 500 mg glutathione pills and take one tablet daily. But, is mere consumption of fruits containing vitamin c with gluathione pills will do the task for me?? Im already taking multi-vitamins everyday and its dose also contain 60mg of vitamin c along with other vitamins… do i still have to take more vitamin c pills?? or wht should be the dosage??

Should people EAT or NOT eat oranges, vitamin c, chicken, chicken soup & spicy stuff when they’re sick?

It’s best to eat light: broth(not soup), crackers, dry toast, plain white rice, diluted juice.

I find a cold goes away quicker if I fast for a day, and just have water or a little diluted juice.

Bone cancer (its actual medical name is bone tumor, there is no such thing as bone cancer, but that is totally irrelevant) is a serious matter but luckily it does not cause a high death rate. If the cancer can be caught early it can be treated with chemo but we many of us know that chemo is not always 100%. Chemo therapy is different with each type of bone cancer, Ewing’s Sarcoma shows to be terminated easily by chemo but others like chondrosarcoma are not as great. If the cancer is caught late then amputation will have to be a last resort. amputation will stop the cancer in its tracks but amputation is extremely hard to deal with. As for the vitamin C, i honestly do not see that woeking whatsoever. Linus Pauling, the only person to win two nobel prizes, strongy believed in high doses of vitamin C and that they will help him live longer and stronger but research on his brain and bones proved that he was no more immune to any disease or cancer than if he didn’t take the vitamin
C. Personally I feel that high doses of Calcium will be good as well as Cod liver oil might help. U should also consider stem cell…. If it falls within your beliefs.

If calcium inhibits the absorbtion of Vitamin C, what is the best way to take it?

I realized when I was eating an orange my Calcium suppliment I just took would block the C from the orange.

Best liquid Vitamin C for guinea pigs?

I have 3 male piggies. Two of them chew the Oxbow Vit C tablets with no problems. The other one will only take it once in a great while. I know he should take it daily but he doesn’t. They are very picky and don’t eat all the fruit and vegtables that most pigs do. I tried a small slice of orange and I thought they were going to chew the bars off the cage trying to get away from it! My question is, what is the best liquid vitamin C product out there for guinea pigs? A lot of those vitamins you buy in the pet stores have so many other ingredients in them that I wonder if they need all that extra stuff!? I don’t care how much it costs. I just want the best! I feed them Oxbow pellets with romaine lettuce, carrots, celery, bananas, apples, and lots of Oxbow hay. I do offer lots of other things, but they are usually rejected. Can they get too much vitamin C? I was told that any extra will get “eliminated.”

Guinea pigs know what (and how much) to eat to keep themselves healthy. They will instinctively eat what they need.

If you buy good quality GP food, you don’t need to supplement it, it’s already in there.

Don’t worry about it, they are fine. You are feeding them exactly what they need.
